Make-up tips for brides

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Your wedding day will be one of the most important day of your life and all eyes will be on you so you want to make sure that you will look your absolute best. So organise time to prepare your skin in the 2 to 3 weeks before the wedding.

I would recommend that you:

Try and have a facial weekly,

Exfoliate twice a week,

Moisturise your face morning and night,

Use a lipbalm daily to keep your lips hydrated and soft,

Have your eyebrows waxed or tweezed by a professional,

Drink lots of water.

On the day:

Apply a makeup primer before your foundation to keep your makeup set and give your skin a healthy glow.

If you have combination to oily skin, keep blotting paper with you all day so you can quickly and easily re-touch your face if you get shiny. Blotting paper is sold by most major brands as well as chemists such as Boots and Superdrug.

I would also recommend to use a longlasting lipcolour or to blot your lipstick to help it keep in place for longer.

Good luck ! x

How to make your lipstick stay

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

To make your lipstick stay longer, use a lip liner all over the lips as a base before applying your lipstick.

Choose a natural tone lipliner or a colour to blend with your lipstick. This little trick will help keep your lipstick in place!

The lipliner will also stop your lipstick from bleeding.

Another tip is to apply your lipstick on your lips, blot with tissue and repeat the process once or twice. It will set the lip colour on your lips.

There are also many longlasting lipsticks and lipstains on the market, which can be applied straight onto the lips and can last up to 8 hours. Mac and Revlon do great colours that come in double-ended tubes with either lipgloss or lipbalm on one end to apply on top of the colour to soften the lips.
